be able to mark tasks/calendar events as non-conflicting
I might not be phrasing this exactly right in the title, but what I mean is that I want to be able to designate a task as something that can happen simultaneously with other things.
For example, part of my morning routine is I sit under a sun lamp and go over my upcoming day. The sun lamp task is half an hour long but I want to be able to schedule things during it without getting the ❗ alert. Or, I have a calendar event for the entirety of my 9-5 workday, and obviously I am doing things during that time, but right now anything I add that takes place between the hours of 9 and 5 on a weekday will trigger the ❗ that it's overlapping tasks.

Another use case: I have a shared family calendar. There are some events on that calendar that I can effectively ignore.

Ok, this is an interesting one. So ‘all-day’ tasks are coming, and are going to display off the timeline - just above ‘anytime tasks’. These are tasks synced from external calendars. So the new ‘day theming’ could work for this, or alternatively you could add subtasks to the main task which will all display when you open it or focus, so that might be a quick fix.
An alternative would be to not display the !, and show the tasks side-by-side. Hmmm. I will need to think about this in a bit more detail :)

The day theming could definitely work! The subtasks is how I'm currently handling the sun lamp piece at least, but it wouldn't work for the workday, since what I do at work isn't necessarily the same every day.
